Sweeeeeeeeet !!!!!!!

Last week we saw the different beliefs and superstitions practiced by the people across India. Right from Digambareshwara Temple to Chinese Kali Temple we came across many types of rituals which were funny, horrifying, patriotic, weird, surprising as well as shocking.

This week we are going to explore the different cusines across India. So, this week will be a food week. Let's taste the various flavors of India.



Bengali cuisine is one of the sweetest cuisine in India which is most famous for its sweets and sea foods especially fish..... Staple diet in this cuisine is fish, vegetables, lentils with rice. They have varied use of flavors and wide range of desserts and confectioneries.


Bengalis celebrate Annaprashana--a food ceremony where the baby has its first solid meal. Annaprashana means grain initiation. The babies takes up some form of rice which is easy to swallow for them and this meal is known as payesh.






Bengali cuisine is subdivided into 4 types.

Charbya or food that is chewed; for example rice or fish.
Chosya or food that is sucked; for example ambal or tak.
Lehya or food that is licked; like chutney.
Peya includes drinks mainly milk.

Sweets occupy an important place in bengal cuisine. No meal is completed without a sweet. Sweets of Bengal are made of cottage cheese and flours of different cereals and pulses. Even though there are many sweets in Bengal cuisine Rosogolla and Rasamalai has a separate fan base and it is popular in all over India.

                                  
 

Rosogolla
                    Rosogolla is one of the widely consumed sweet which is a popular traditional milk sweet in India. Rosogolla draws its origin from Eastern India. Nobin Chandra Das played an important role in improvising spongy rosogollas which are mouthwatering.



Rasamalai
                     Rasamalai is composed of white, cream or yellow coloured balls of channa which are dipped and soaked in sugar, malai or cottage cheese. Rasamalai like rosogolla is a popular milk sweet in India,

The cuisine of Bengal looks so delicious as well as so sweet. This cuisine has a wide variety of flavors which is interesting as well as mouthwatering. So, if anyone who has not tried this amazing cuisine don't miss it.
